Presumably it wouldn't install in the first place unless VS2005 is present so it expects that it should be there when you uninstall it. It probably thinks of installing and uninstalling like a stack. You have to uninstall in the reverse order to the installation.

One word BETA!

In the MS world that means don't install this on anything you can't reformat and rebuild PDQ!!!!

@John, neither VS2005 nor the WCSF are beta products. @Colin, yes I know the mechanics of what it is doing, my question was more along the lines of why, in this day and age, am I still having problems with dependencies when *uninstalling* software? I mean, I want it off my machine I dont' care what it depends on, just remove it. I doubley don't care about a dependency that has already been uninstalled. Ah the joys of software engineering :-)

Okay I misread the post and thought you'd installed 2008, which you've clearly not done.

Still, perhaps the VS2005 uninstaller is still in BETA :-).
